The donation drive for ASF was a great success. The $200,000 target was reached and a cheque was presented to Prof Howard Hunter during Graduates’ Night 2007 on 28 July 2007 to commemorate this achievement.

In 2004, which was a year before SMUAA was founded, the first ASF seed was planted by the pioneer Alumni Class of 2004. It was heartily supported by the SMU Alumni Association and Office of Advancement & Alumni, with generous donations from the Pioneer Class of 2004, Class of 2005, 2006 and 2007.
The Alumni Scholarship Fund will enable SMU to offer an endowed scholarship for outstanding and deserving SMU students every year, in perpetuity. The scholarship will be awarded starting in academic year 2008.
