On Campus
Gaining the SMU Edge - On Campus
On the grassy quadrangle, a frisbee game is in progress, even as a flea market to raise money for charity takes place along the link bridge leading to the U-Centre. All the while, a 'live' music request programme plays in the background, compliments of campus radio.
Vibrancy Amidst Diversity
Student life at SMU is vibrant and student-inspired. With more than 60 diverse and dynamic CCA groups catering to the full-spectrum of student activities, the most precious memories you will have of university life will be about the fun you've had playing and working with like-minded friends. Student life at SMU is about having a great experience - and learning to be a leader, in whatever field takes your fancyc anything from sports to the performing and visual arts; from community service to entrepreneurial and international clubs, or one of our two student magazines. Perhaps you prefer golfing, sailing or mountaineering? Why not blow your horn with our symphonic orchestra; or would DJ'ing be your groove?
SMU clubs are led by committees along the lines of business enterprises. Running CCA clubs, students gain invaluable experience putting management theories into practice The campus events they organise require venture decisions. They have to set out business objectives, plan marketing strategies to draw in the crowds, learn how to manage manpower and logistics and raise funds. A unique and bold aspect of SMU student life is the close student-staff partnership in the management of key SMU events such as Patron's Day and Convocation. |
