Our exciting and flexible curriculum allows students to tailor their course structures according to their strengths and interests. All students take courses in the University Core, considered the heart of the undergraduate programmes. Here, students take courses that allow them to develop the soft, people skills that include analytical thinking, communication skills, leadership and teambuilding skills and ethics and social responsibility.
Students deepen their knowledge base by taking courses in their chosen specialisations, and broaden their perspectives through courses in arts and the sciences, global studies, technology, entrepreneurship and career skills. They also gain real life perspectives by undertaking internships and community service.
Lessons in SMU are subtly planned in such a way that a student is taught something to strengthen one’s corporate skill for the corporate world. Plainly put it, you learn a skill that would be essential when you’re working full time without you knowing.
