SMU students may be considered for awards sponsored by various organizations in recognition of their outstanding achievements, in academics, community service, and co-curricular involvements. Some awards are given automatically based on performance; others by application.

Sponsored by Associate Professor Low Aik Meng, the Dean of Students Award is given annually to students who have achieved or made significant contributions, beyond academic studies, to the university or the community at large.
Up to 30 awards will be presented at the SMU Patron's Day.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who have significantly achieved, contributed, promoted and enhanced the social, recreational, sporting and/or cultural life of SMU student life , the University and the Nation are welcomed to submit their applications. Invitation to apply will be sent by Office of Student Life via e-mail in November/December of each year.
Certificate and cash prize of S$100
