The broad-based learning is not just marketing-speak, but truly an integral aspect of the university.

Scholarships

Outstanding students are recognised and rewarded with distinguished scholarships awarded by SMU, donor organisations and partner philanthropists. They all provide a generous monetary package, and for some of them, opportunities for global exposure, allowing students to be immersed in another culture and form networks with like-minded individuals from within Singapore as well as from overseas countries. They also open doors to internships and employment at renowned organisations upon graduation.

A new Centre for Scholars' Development (CSD) has been set up to implement and oversee a mentorship scheme and other development programmes for a select group of scholars. Under the CSD, these scholars will get to participate in prestigious events such as CEO talks/dinners, global business competitions, and special seminars and conferences.

In awarding these scholarships, SMU and donor organisations seek the most dynamic, deserving and motivated students. If you possess outstanding academic results, display a penchant for leadership, show a laudable track record in co-curricular activities, and exhibit a zest for community service, we invite you to apply for these scholarships.

SMU has arguably one of the most comprehensive scholarship schemes for outstanding freshmen. The scholarships listed within this section are outstanding in prestige and value.
