International Qualifications

Applicants, regardless of nationality with the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level qualifications (including private candidates). Applicants with A-level qualifications directly from UK (Cambridge, Edexel, AQA) should apply under "International Qualifications" application category.

SMU’s practice of inclusive education ensures that applicants with disabilities or special needs will receive the same consideration as other applicants. SMU advocates for the rights of students with disabilities, and regards them as equal, integral and contributing members of the student body. Our online application for admission has a section that ask applicants to indicate if they have any disabilities or special needs. Please complete this section if you have such disabilities or special needs.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online. There are no hardcopy or downloadable application forms. Applications submitted from forms that are downloaded and printed from the website will not be accepted.

Applications Opening Date 17 October 2011

Applications Closing Date 1 April 2012

Applications for Academic Year 2012-13 have closed. Applications for Academic Year 2013-14 will open in October 2012. Please visit this page for regular updates.

After submitting your online application, you may click here to access the Applicant's Self Service Functions to print your Checklist Summary, update your contact information, make online payment or check your application status.

Submission of Supporting Documents

After applying online, please submit the following to SMU at the address indicated below:

  • Photocopies of the relevant supporting documents. Please do not submit original copies. Supporting documents must be submitted timely. SMU cannot process your application without these documents.
  • Application fee of S$15. Please click here for the various payment methods.

Typical supporting documents include the following:

  • Checklist Summary. This page will be displayed on your computer screen when your online application has been submitted successfully.

  • NRIC for Singapore Citizens; NRIC and Passport Particulars Page for Permanent Residents; Passport Particulars Page and Singapore Student's Pass (if any) for Non-citizens.

  • Secondary school examination results (for eg. GCE O-Level, Year 10 results, etc)

  • High school examination results (actual or forecast, whichever is applicable)

  • University results, if any.

  • SAT scores / AP results

  • TOEFL, IELTS or MUET results, if applicable

  • Other accredited examination results (for eg. SAT Subject Tests/AP/ACT/GMAT), if any

  • School Testimonials/Extra Curricular Activity/Co-Curricular Activity/Special Achievements/Award Records, if any.

  • Medical report, if you have any disabilities or major illness.
