General

Q: What are the degrees offered in SMU?
A. Click here for more information.
Q. What is the medium of instruction for SMU courses?
A. The medium of instruction is English.
Q: Are all SMU degrees four years in duration or less?
A. Non-Law students may be able to complete the programme within 3 – 4 years through the granting of credits or course exemptions (up to six credits/course exemptions may be given) or fast-tracking by taking more courses during the regular terms or the summer terms. However, students are advised to plan their course time-table wisely in order to maximise learning opportunities. Fast-tracking for some students may not always be a wise move.
Q. Are SMU degrees widely recognized?
A: SMU has earned accreditation from AACSB International (AACSB) in business and accounting for the Lee Kong Chian School of Business and School of Accountancy. AACSB Accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognised form of specialised/professional accreditation an institution and its business programmes can earn.

The Lee Kong Chian School of Business has also attained the renowned EQUIS accreditation, and is one of the youngest business schools in the world to do so. The accreditation conferred by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), which covers all programmes offered by the LKCSB from the undergraduate degree up to the Ph.D. level, brings us to the ranks of leading business schools around the world, such as the London Business School in the United Kingdom, IE Business School in Spain, INSEAD in France and the China Europe International Business School in China.

SMU graduates continue to do well in the Graduate Employer Surveys, with a high proportion of them securing jobs, either before or within one month of graduation.
