At SMU, we offer competitive scholarships that are exclusive to our undergraduates, to recognize and reward talents. Available to both local and foreign students, these scholarships help SMU undergrads achieve their study goals and open doors to a world of opportunities.

Scholarships are typically merit-based, regardless of financial need. Students who possess outstanding academic results, display a penchant for leadership, show an excellent track record in co-curricular activities, and better yet, exhibit a zest for involvement in community service, are invited to apply for these scholarships.

Of all the full scholarships awarded by Singapore Management University, the following three are easily the most esteemed and coveted:

Lee Kong Chian Scholars Programme

Inspired by the philosophy and accomplishments of the late great Dr Lee Kong Chian, the prestigious university-wide Scholars Programme aims to produce excellent well-rounded, multi-disciplinary graduates with global mindsets - individuals whose accomplishments will extend beyond the business arena, to benefit the wider community. All Lee Scholars will pursue double degrees, one of which will be in Business. What makes this fully-funded four-year programme unique: a core component that will be specifically designed for these scholars.

Lee Scholars will have extensive opportunities to interact with industry leaders, fellow students and leading corporations from the region and beyond, through overseas study missions. They will reap the benefits of participating in international community service initiatives and student exchanges with partner universities of SMU.

Li Ka-shing Endowed Scholarship Programme

Tenable for a maximum of four years, and each valued up to S$40,000 per year, this generously funded scholarship covers full tuition fees, a one-off grant for the purchase of a notebook computer, an annual allowance for travel-related costs for overseas internships, overseas exchange programmes and Business Study Missions, and general living expenses. The scholarships are open to outstanding full-time SMU undergraduates from mainland China as well as Hong Kong.

SMU Scholarship Programme

The prestigious SMU Scholarships go way beyond grades and the conventional paper chase. They get awarded to brilliant and ambitious local and foreign full-time SMU undergraduates who display strong leadership qualities. And with no strings attached - no bond to serve or study loans to repay - these shining individuals are free to hit the ground running as soon as they graduate. Naturally, such premium scholarships will go to those who we believe will be more than ready to rock the business world from day one.
