Password Management

  1. Do I have to change my computer account password periodically?
  2. Yes, you will be prompted by the system to change your password every 90 days (approximately 3 months).

  3. When changing password, can I reuse my existing password?
  4. No, you cannot use the existing password.

  5. What is the minimum length of the computer account password?
  6. Your password must consist of at least 6 alphanumeric characters. Although there is no physical limit to the length of your password, you may want to keep to a maximum of 14 alphanumeric characters.

  7. Who can help me if I forget my computer account password?
  8. Please seek help from the Helpdesk. You will be given a temporary password to access your account. After you have logged in, you will be prompted to change to a new password.

  9. Can I self-help to change my account password without getting assistance from Helpdesk?
  10. You are required to register first by using your Mobile Phone number.

  11. Who can help me if my computer account is locked?
  12. If you have failed in more than 5 login attempts (for example, by supplying the wrong password), your computer account will be locked for security reasons. Please seek assistance from Helpdesk.
