Why am I not able to install Trend Micro - Office Scan (TMOS) from home even when I managed to connect to SMU VPN network from home?
If you are unable to install the first 2 links distributed in mass email earlier, you can alternatively install the single file installation at source 3. (You will be required to use SMU VPN when you are not in the campus network for all source files.

After installing TMOS, it had detected some virus/ Trojan. However, I am not able to delete the infected files manually, why is it so?
As long AV has taken action whether the status is "cleaned", "deleted" or "quarantined", no further action is required from the user.

Does TMOS have an option to let my client machine manually delete quarantined file?
No, you do not require to manually deleting quarantined as all of these has been taken out to Anti-virus server. Answer same as question 3.
- What type and version of Operating System does TMOS support?
Only for Windows 32 & 64 bit OS platform (Window 7, Window XP, Window Vista, Window Server 2003, Window Server 2008).
- Does Office Scan also have protection for the email? Like outlook client, pop, smtp..etc
Yes, you can enable your Outlook Mail scan by opening up Office Scan console, under mail scan tabs, click on Install/Upgrade and Yes to download the additional feature.
- It didn't show network map drive on the Trend Micro console after installed, does it mean that it's not able to scan have protection of the network map drive, include user home folder. It is the correct way?
No, Office Scan has a real time scan feature that enable protection against network folders. Therefore, you do not require having a network map drive to do the scanning which is similar for most antivirus products.
- How does the virus definition file being updated to the client machine? Is there any requirements to have the virus definition file keep updated?
Virus definition can be updated through internet from school & even at home as long as user is currently on established internet access area and with Enable Roaming Mode to download the updates. (You can enable the Roaming function by right mouse click over TMOS icon and select "Enable Roaming Mode").
- How come I am not able to download my virus definition file at home?

- How come when I try to uninstall Trend Micro, it requires a password, what is the current standard password?
Due to prevent unauthorized uninstallation of Office Scan, we will not provide the password. Please visit IITS Helpdesk for the uninstallation process.
- What is the most commonly known support issue when using this version of TMOS during installation or update?
Most commonly known issue is that users may sometimes experience unable to update virus definition. Answer same as question 9.
- Does this version of the Trendmicro Office Scan detect & prevent malware and spyware?
Yes, Office Scan protects against malware & spyware besides viruses.
