The PC Notebook models have been rigorously tested by our IITS staff and are verified by SMU students to have surpassed the requirements for stability and compatibility with all campus facilities, as well as the University's applications and software packages.

This year we are also introducing two categories of Mac laptop, namely the “MacBook Pro” and “MacBook Air”. Both will be pre-configured with a Boot Camp partition (pre-installed with SMU licensed software) and come with both on-site (pick-up & return) and loan set (only for 3 year extended warranty) services, where applicable.

Mac Laptop DO NOT share the same Service Level Agreement (SLA) as the PC Laptop tender. Below are some of the key applications and functionalities that are not supported natively in the Mac Operating System:
