The Impact of the Financial Crisis on Globalisation and Regional Cooperation:
Its Lessons and what Hong Kong can do for itself and for the Region

We are pleased to invite you, staff, faculty and high school students from your institution to the third lecture of the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Public Lecture Series.

This lecture series was established at the Singapore Management University by philanthropist Mrs Ho Lien Fung, in honour of her late husband, former Singapore Ambassador and successful businessman Mr Ho Rih Hwa. The purpose of this series is to inspire students and the public with the views and valuable opinions of accomplished entrepreneurs, business and political leaders from within and beyond the Asia-Pacific region.

Our distinguished speaker Mr Donald Tsang assumed office on 21 June 2005. He was re-elected on 25 March 2007 as the third-term Chief Executive, and was formally appointed by the Central People's Government on 2 April 2007. Mr Tsang's new term of office will run from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2012. Under his leadership, the Hong Kong government has responded swiftly to the current financial crisis with a series of measures to stabilize the financial market, support enterprise and create employment.

Hear from Mr Donald Tsang as he discusses the effects of the global economic slowdown, the future plans of Hong Kong and the impact for the region. The event will be moderated by Mr Ho Kwon Ping, Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings Limited and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University.
